The Vienna Vegetable Orchestra is a sound performance project I co-founded 
in 1997. Now it consists of a collective of fourteen artists and musicians who all are active in 
various artistic areas. Main focus of interest is to create contemporary music 
with organic means. All instruments consist mainly of fresh vegetables. 

In our live performances, that open up and make audible the vegetables’ sound
qualities, we also experiment with the transitoriness of sound and food. 
When the concert is over the instruments are transformed into a soup, enabling 
the audience to enjoy the music with yet another sense.
